Unfortunately there is no replacement for a broken lamp, you will have to buy a new lamp

How do I apply bio slurry to animal feeds?

You mix with maize bran starting with a ratio of 1:4 (slurry to maize bran) and gradually increase on a ratio of 1:2. How do I use bio slurry as a fertilizer in my garden?

You can use it in liquid or solid form as an organic composite.

What are some of the requirements needed to construct a biogas plant?

You must have sufficient feedstock (waste) preferably cow dung, pig dung, chicken dung or human waste). For those who own dairy cattle, a minimum of two cows in zero-grazing unit would provide sufficient feedstock to qualify for a biogas plant.

How many lamps can I use to my bio digester?
  • It depends on the size of a bio digester and biogas usage rate
How long can a bio digester last?
  • A well-constructed bio digester can last more than 20 years
Where can I get biogas appliances?
  • In Uganda, you can get them in the following areas: Central region visit our office located at Plot 36 Luthuli Rise, Bugolobi, In Eastern region contact Mbale Renewable Energy Center LTD (MREC) and while in Western region contact Modern Earth Technologies Company LTD (METCO).

Can I directly use biogas in LPG stove?
  • No, but with some technical modifications (which is not common) it can be used. Technically LPG stoves have very thin nozzles compared to bio gas stoves
Can I use biogas to iron and/or fridge?
  • Yes, but the suppliers for these appliances are limited. You can call (give the specific country numbers) for more detailed information
How do I remove the foam from the bio digester?
  • By stirring with a wooden stick
  • Regular feeding of the plant
How do I remove water vapor from water trap?
  • Drain water from the pipeline through water trap (if T-type water trap)
How do I fix a knob if it is loose?
  • Tighten it clockwise
What are other uses of bio slurry apart from being manure?
  • Used as food supplement to animals (e.g. pigs, cows, goat, chicken) and fish
  • Used also as insect repellant
Am I supposed to dig the compost pit by myself or it’s the mason?
  • You may opt to dig it by yourself or pay a mason to do so depending on your financial capability. This is usually a client’s responsibility and assists in cutting cost especially where a farmer can opts to dig by him/herself.
